When the 2026 Jeep Wrangler Laredo concept made its debut at the 2026 Easter Jeep Safari, we had a feeling that sooner or later Jeep would revive the Laredo name for a production model, given its special place in the brand’s history. Well, we didn’t have to wait long, as Jeep has just unveiled a new Laredo-branded model as part of its Twelve-4-Twelve series of Jeep Wrangler special editions that it’s been rolling out over the past year.

The original CJ and YJ Laredo models took their inspiration from the rugged namesake Texas border town, and the modern version builds on that legacy with tan, brown, and gold elements that create a package meant to evoke an American Southwest theme. It also comes prepackaged with a 1-inch lift and 35-inch tires.
Positioned just above the base trims back in its ’80s-era heyday, the Laredo offered robust simplicity, true off-road dependability, and a unique style that Jeep fans still clamor for today. But the modern JL Wrangler Laredo also offers something those older models didn’t: four doors.
Yes, along with the two-door model that stays more in line with the original, the modern Laredo will also be available with enough room for the whole family. As part of the throwback to its Wild West roots, the 2027 Wrangler Laredo comes standard with the Xtreme 35 package, which includes 35-inch BFGoodrich KO2 tires mounted on bronze, beadlock-capable wheels.
The grille retains its iconic seven-slot design but features a unique Gobi accent that works with the warm look of the distinctive bodyside decals. It also gets a pair of bronze tow hooks, bronze-accented Jeep and Trail Rated badging, and, at the rear, the classic lasso-style “4 Wheel Drive” decal.

But what really makes this the Laredo, besides the CJ- and YJ-inspired decals on the hood center and sides, is the inclusion of a tan soft top, a signature feature the Wrangler hadn’t had in over four years. Even then, it was only offered for the Black & Tan edition . If you don’t appreciate that timeless tan soft top, the Sky One-Touch Powertop is available on the four-door, while a black removable hard top is optional on both the two- and four-door Laredos.
Inside, the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Laredo features earth-tone colors that match its Southwestern style. The seats, including heated power front seats, are wrapped in Bison Brown Nappa leather, and Mayan Gold accent stitching gives the Wrangler’s interior a more upscale look.
The instrument panel surround, grab handle, door armrests, and center console are upholstered in Global Black, and Laredo badging appears throughout the cabin, including a custom Laredo center console badge. The rear swing-gate plaque also features the coordinates of Laredo, Texas, and the HVAC controls wear cowboy hat motifs to round out the celebration of the place it’s named after.
Pricing starts at $53,240 for the two-door and $55,620 for the four-door. That represents a $1,995 premium over the 2027 Wrangler Willys it’s based on, equipped with the Xtreme 35 Tire package. You’ll be able to order your 2027 Jeep Wrangler Laredo later this month from your local Jeep dealer.
