McLaren has long used electrification to enhance performance, and the Artura showcases that potential. This supercar uses a hybrid powertrain to deliver impressive speed, while its sleek carbon-fiber body looks properly sporty. Introduced for 2023, the Artura competes against other high-end sports cars including the Aston Martin Vantage, Mercedes-AMG GT, and Porsche 911 Turbo S.

The McLaren Artura carries a hybrid legacy established by the legendary P1 . Combining a punchy V-6 with an axial flux electric motor results in major performance potential—brisk acceleration, sharp handling, and an impressively comfortable ride in everyday use. The powertrain’s 11 miles of electric range is useful, even if a bit more would make the hybrid system more compelling.

Early software problems hindered the Artura’s rollout, but McLaren says those issues have been resolved. While the Artura looks good, some of its rivals have more visual impact. In this segment, too, there are some exceptional vehicles, and the Artura faces impressive rivals.

Nevertheless, with its blend of efficiency, refinement, and performance, the Artura stands as a highly accomplished supercar .

For open-air thrills, McLaren builds the Artura Spider. This convertible model has a har-top roof that folds away above the engine compartment. Eight electric motors move the roof, which can raise or lower in 11 seconds at speeds up to 31 mph.

The added hardware adds 136 pounds relative to the Artura coupe, but the Artura Spider remains an excellent driver’s car.

Pricing for the 2027 Artura starts at slightly more than $272,000. The convertible Spider version begins at just above $298,000.
