2027 Buick Enclave Expert Review

The Buick Enclave occupies a sweet spot between mainstream three-row SUVs and full luxury models. Spacious, quiet, and comfort-focused, it’s built for families who want premium touches without chasing badge prestige. Among Buick SUVs, it remains the brand’s biggest and most upscale expression of that mission.

Luxury three-row SUV rivals include the Acura MDX, Infiniti QX60, and Lexus TX.

The 2027 Enclave remains a strong choice for shoppers who want a quiet, comfortable, tech-forward three-row SUV without paying full luxury-brand money.

The Enclave is best when it leans into Buick’s strengths: space, serenity, and easygoing comfort. It’s not sporty or especially memorable from behind the wheel, but that’s not the point. This SUV is built to make commutes, school runs, and road trips feel quieter and less stressful.

Lower trims still require more consideration. The Enclave’s size and tech appeal across the range, but the richer cabin treatment and standard Super Cruise make the Avenir the trim that best delivers on Buick’s premium promise.

The turbocharged four-cylinder should remain adequate, though we wouldn’t expect major gains in refinement or engagement. A hybrid option would still suit this SUV’s smooth, quiet mission.

For buyers who value comfort, space, and hands-free driving tech, the Enclave is easy to recommend, but for shoppers looking to go more upscale, the class also offers rivals like the Lincoln Nautilus and BMW X5.

Top-Ranked Competitors:

The current-generation Enclave features a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that develops 328 hp and 323 lb-ft of torque. With FWD, the SUV accelerated to 60 mph in 7.4 seconds during MotorTrend testing, bettering the 7.9 seconds the AWD model needed to hit the same speed. Neither time is especially quick.

By comparison, the Lexus TX350 comes with a slightly smaller 2.4-liter turbo inline-four that makes only 275 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque. It needed an even longer 8.0 seconds to hit 60 mph in testing.

MPGs and Range

The FWD Enclave is not only quicker than the AWD model, it’s slightly more efficient, too. The EPA rates the FWD version at up to 20/25 mpg city/highway and as much as 427 miles of range. AWD models return the same city rating but drop to 24 mpg highway, with range falling to 407 miles.

Toyota’s powertrains tend to be efficient, and the TX350 edges out the Enclave, though only slightly. The FWD Lexus is rated at up to 21/27 mpg and 409 miles of range, while the AWD version loses 1 mpg in both city and highway ratings but maintains the same estimated range.

Safety Ratings and Features

Last year’s Enclave earned IIHS’ second highest distinction, 2026 Top Safety Pick, but that could change for 2027, as the institute currently updates standards every year. Buick equips every Enclave with a generous set of driver assist and active safety features, including:

Adaptive cruise control

Blind-spot monitoring

Lane keep assist

Front and rear automatic emergency braking

Front, side, and rear cross-traffic alert

Road sign recognition

Automatic high-beams

Cargo Space and Interior Room

The 2027 Enclave offers a spacious cabin, with more first- and second-row legroom than the Lexus TX and Infiniti QX60. Its cargo capacity also compares well with those rivals, though the TX provides slightly more space behind the second row.

A wide 30-inch screen incorporates the Enclave’s driver display and infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and Google’s Gemini AI is newly standard with every trim this year. Enclaves also feature a wireless phone charger and six USB ports.

The base system is a Bose setup with 12 speakers including a subwoofer; the upgrade is also from Bose but gets 16 speakers. Every Enclave comes with active noise cancelling and an acoustic windshield to help with optimal audio clarity.

A head-up display, rear camera mirror, headlight animation, and 110-volt outlet are unlocked with the top trim. The Super Cruise package includes the hands-free driving tech as well as enhanced automatic parking and driver focus monitoring.

A comfortable ride, huge screen, and spacious cabin come with every Enclave. The base-model SUV is also impressively equipped, with features that include power front seats, second-row captain’s chairs, a 360-degree camera, remote start, tinted glass, and a hands-free power liftgate.

In Preferred trim, the Enclave should continue to include a long list of standard features. It will likely still start under $50,000 this year, making it a compelling features-per-dollar value compared with some luxury rivals.
